Farad MedPos Free — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026  ·  Aligned with Google Play Data Safety, the ICT Act 2006 and Digital Security Act 2018 (Bangladesh)

1. Scope

This policy explains how the Farad MedPos Free Android application (package com.threedbazar.mediposfree) handles data on your device, and what data is collected by the third-party advertising service that funds the free build. The Laravel marketing site hosting this page is covered separately by the site Privacy Policy.

2. Plain-English summary

  • The App is offline-first. Your products, invoices, and reports live in a local database on your phone.
  • We (3D Bazar) do not operate a cloud service for your sales data, and we do not have a copy of it.
  • After you print a receipt or report, the App shows a single full-screen advert served by Google AdMob. Google receives standard ad-serving data — see §5 and our Ads & Third-Party Disclosure.
  • Camera and Bluetooth permissions are requested only when the corresponding feature is used.
  • There is no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no user-account system.

3. What data the App stores on your device

  • Product catalogue: SKU, barcode, English & Bengali names, price, tax rate, stock level, category.
  • Invoices: invoice number, line items, subtotal, discount, tax, total, payment method (Cash / Card / Mobile), timestamp, and an optional customer name you type in.
  • Daily summaries: aggregated sales totals per day used for the Reports screen.
  • OCR history: raw text recognised from product labels, the detected name and price, and the timestamp. Kept locally so the same label can be re-used without re-scanning.
  • App settings: business name, currency symbol, tax rate, printer preferences. Stored via Android DataStore.
  • Optional registration (skippable): if you choose to register, the name and phone number you enter are stored only on your device for receipt headers. Nothing is transmitted to us.

All of the above lives in a local SQLite database (Room) inside the App's private storage. No customer health records or prescription data are collected by the App.

4. Device permissions

  • Camera — used only while a scanning screen is open (barcode/QR scan, OCR). Frames are processed on-device by Google ML Kit (Latin script) and Tesseract4Android (Bengali script). Frames are not uploaded or stored as images.
  • Bluetooth (CONNECT & SCAN) — requested when you tap "Print receipt" so the App can pair with and connect to your ESC/POS thermal printer over RFCOMM. We never enumerate or transmit your other Bluetooth devices.
  • Internet & Network State — used only by the Google AdMob SDK to fetch ads. No sales, customer, or inventory data is ever sent over the network by this App.
  • Storage — used to save PDF receipts that you choose to export or share. No system-wide storage permission is requested on Android 13+.

5. Third-party advertising (Google AdMob)

The free build is funded by a single interstitial ad shown after a successful receipt or report print. Ads are served by Google AdMob, and Google may collect:

  • Advertising identifier (Android Ad ID) — you can reset or limit it at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • IP address, device model, OS version, locale, country, mobile-network carrier.
  • Ad-interaction events — impression, click, dismissal.

This data is collected and used by Google, not by 3D Bazar. Google's use of it is described in the Google Ads Privacy & Terms and the AdMob Data Disclosure. The full SDK inventory is documented in our Ads & Third-Party Disclosure.

6. Other third-party libraries (all on-device)

The App is built with open-source libraries that run entirely on-device and do not transmit your data:

  • Google ML Kit — on-device text and barcode recognition.
  • Tesseract4Android with the ben.traineddata language pack for Bengali OCR.
  • iText7 — PDF receipt generation.
  • ZXing — QR-code rendering.
  • Vico — charts on the Reports screen.
  • Room (Android Jetpack) — local SQLite database.

7. Sharing of data

Apart from the ad-serving data described in §5, no data is shared with third parties. Your sales records stay on your device. If you choose to export a PDF receipt or share a sale summary through Android's share sheet, the data is handed to the app you pick (e.g. WhatsApp, Gmail) under that app's own privacy policy, not ours.

8. Data retention & deletion

Retention is governed by our separate Data Retention Policy. In short: data stays on your device until you delete it from within the App or uninstall the App. To request that Google delete the ad-related data it holds against your Advertising ID, see the My Ad Center controls.

9. Children

Farad MedPos Free is intended for use by adult shop owners and staff. It is not directed to children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect any data from children. The Google AdMob integration is configured to serve adult-only, non-personalised content where local law requires it.

10. Security

The App's database is stored inside Android's private app sandbox (internal storage). Keep your device's screen lock and OS up to date — that is the single most important step to protect your sales data. We recommend taking periodic backups (Android auto-backup) and exporting PDF receipts you may need for audit purposes.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how the App handles data — for example, swapping the advertising provider, or introducing analytics — we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be highlighted in the App's Play Store release notes.
