Farad Grocery — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 03 July 2026 · Aligned with Google Play Data Safety, the ICT Act 2006 and Digital Security Act 2018 (Bangladesh)
1. Scope
This policy explains how the Farad Grocery Android application (package com.threedbazar.grocery) handles data on your device, and what data is collected by the third-party advertising service that funds the free build. The Laravel marketing site hosting this page is covered separately by the site Privacy Policy.
2. Plain-English summary
- The App is offline-first. Your products, invoices, and reports live in a local database on your phone.
- We (3D Bazar) do not operate a cloud service for your sales data, and we do not have a copy of it.
- After you print a receipt or report, the App shows a single full-screen advert served by Google AdMob. Google receives standard ad-serving data — see §5 and our Ads & Third-Party Disclosure.
- Camera and Bluetooth permissions are requested only when the corresponding feature is used.
- There is no crash-reporting SDK and no user-account system. The app does include Meta's App Events SDK to measure installs and ad performance — see §5.
3. What data the App stores on your device
- Product catalogue: SKU, barcode, English & Bengali names, price, tax rate, stock level, unit, category.
- Invoices: invoice number, line items, subtotal, discount, tax, total, payment method (Cash / Card / Mobile), timestamp, and an optional customer name you type in.
- Daily summaries: aggregated sales totals per day used for the Reports screen.
- OCR history: raw text recognised from product labels, the detected name and price, and the timestamp. Kept locally so the same label can be re-used without re-scanning.
- App settings: business name, currency symbol, tax rate, printer preferences. Stored via Android DataStore.
All of the above lives in a local SQLite database (Room) inside the App's private storage. No customer personal data beyond an optional name is ever collected.
4. Device permissions
- Camera — used only while a scanning screen is open (barcode/QR scan, OCR, object detection). Frames are processed on-device by Google ML Kit. Frames are not uploaded or stored as images.
- Bluetooth (CONNECT & SCAN) — requested when you tap "Print receipt" so the App can connect to your ESC/POS thermal printer over RFCOMM. We never enumerate or transmit your other Bluetooth devices.
- Internet & Network State — used only by the Google AdMob SDK to fetch ads. No sales, customer, or inventory data is ever sent over the network by this App.
5. Third-party advertising & attribution (Google AdMob & Meta)
The free build is funded by a single interstitial ad shown after a successful receipt or report print. Ads are served by Google AdMob, and Google may collect:
- Advertising identifier (Android Ad ID) — you can reset or limit it at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- IP address, device model, OS version, locale, country, mobile-network carrier.
- Ad-interaction events — impression, click, dismissal.
This data is collected and used by Google, not by 3D Bazar. Full details: Google Ads Privacy & Terms and our Ads & Third-Party Disclosure.
Meta (Facebook) App Events SDK. Farad Grocery also includes Meta's App Events SDK so that app installs and sessions can be attributed to our advertising campaigns. It may share the following with Meta Platforms, Inc.:
- Advertising identifier (Android Ad ID), IP address, device model, OS version, locale.
- App install & session events (e.g. "app activated", "session started").
Meta does not receive your products, invoices, customers, or any sales data. Meta's handling of attribution data is described in the Meta Privacy Policy.
6. Other third-party libraries (all on-device)
- Google ML Kit — on-device text recognition, barcode scanning, and object detection.
- iText7 — PDF receipt generation.
- ZXing — QR-code rendering.
- Vico — charts on the Reports screen.
- Room (Android Jetpack) — local SQLite database.
7. Sharing of data
Apart from the ad-serving data described in §5, no data is shared with third parties. Your sales records stay on your device. If you choose to export a PDF receipt via Android's share sheet, that data is handled by the app you pick under its own privacy policy.
8. Data retention & deletion
See our Data Retention Policy. In short: all data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. There is no cloud backup.
9. Children
Farad Grocery is intended for use by adult shop owners and staff. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles data we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be highlighted in the App's Play Store release notes.
